# DEVONthink actions for ActionClip

Turn a selection into a new note or use it to search the DEVONthink databases you already have open.

## About DEVONthink

DEVONthink is a document and knowledge manager for collecting, organizing, and finding research and reference material.

## How to use

1. Select the text you want to use.
2. Choose your DEVONthink action from ActionClip.
3. ActionClip sends the selection to DEVONthink and opens the app for you.

## Requirements

Install DEVONthink and enable its Take Plain Note or Lookup macOS Service, depending on the action you want to use.

## Privacy

ActionClip sends the selection directly to DEVONthink on your Mac. DEVONthink controls any syncing that happens afterward.

Nothing is sent until the user clicks the action. ActionClip does not run this integration in the background.
