# Highlight action for ActionClip

Apply the active app's known highlight command.

## What it does

Uses an allowlisted bundle-ID-to-shortcut table for Preview, Skim, Evernote, PDF Expert, Obsidian, GoodLinks, Scrivener, Pages, Logseq, DEVONthink, Alternote, iA Writer, iA Presenter, PDFpen, and Apple Notes. Unsupported apps fail without sending a shortcut.

## How to highlight selected text in supported Mac apps with ActionClip

1. Select the text you want to use.
2. Choose **Highlight** from ActionClip.
3. The destination opens with your selection ready to use.

## Requirements

The selection must remain active in one of the supported apps. Accessibility permission is required to target the source app.

## Privacy

ActionClip sends a reviewed keyboard shortcut to the active supported app. The selected text does not leave your Mac.
