What Append to Clipboard does

Appends the trimmed selection after the existing clipboard text, separated by a new line. Hold Shift while clicking to prepend instead, or Option to use a space as the separator. If either side is empty, ActionClip avoids adding an unnecessary separator.

Use Append to Clipboard

Follow these steps to combine selected text with the existing clipboard text with ActionClip.

  1. Select the text you want to use.
  2. Choose Append to Clipboard from ActionClip.
  3. Review the result, then copy it where you need it.

Requirements and privacy

  • Before you start: The selection must contain text. Hold Shift to prepend or Option to separate with a space.
  • Your selected text: ActionClip reads and updates the macOS clipboard locally. The selection and clipboard contents never leave your Mac.
