You can also open the widget, search actions, navigate groups and reopen your last result from the keyboard. Choose the shortcuts that fit how you work.
With PopClip A shortcut opens the bar, then arrow keys and Return select and run an action. It has no built-in option to assign a global shortcut to an individual extension.

How does the AI Actions Builder work?
Describe what you want to do with selected text. ActionClip generates an action you can review, test, adjust and save. The saved action is available from your selection menu. Generated actions should be tested before you rely on them; supported AI sources, hardware requirements and provider costs vary.
Can I install actions made by other users?
Yes. Community Built is part of ActionClip’s Marketplace and contains reviewed community contributions. You can install a published action or submit your own for review. PopClip also offers a directory of extensions and community-shared snippets.
Is ActionClip a free alternative to PopClip?
Yes. ActionClip’s free-forever plan includes 30 action runs every day. A one-time purchase removes the daily limit and includes lifetime updates.
Does ActionClip require a subscription?
No. ActionClip’s paid plans are one-time purchases. External AI providers may have separate usage charges or subscription requirements depending on the connection you choose.
Can I use ActionClip without AI?
Yes. Copying, pasting, case changes, word counts, and many other actions work without an AI provider or API key. AI is optional.
Does selected text leave my Mac?
Local AI options keep supported requests on your Mac. Online actions you choose to run can send selected text to their destinations. Optional iCloud sync transfers selected settings rather than selected text or clipboard contents. ActionClip also records limited anonymous events; see its privacy policy for details.
Will my existing PopClip extensions work in ActionClip?
Check ActionClip’s built-in actions and marketplace, or recreate the workflow as a custom action. Test the result before switching.
Is ActionClip available for Windows or iPhone?
ActionClip is a Mac app requiring macOS 15 or later. Its iPhone-style menu describes the interface, not an iPhone version.
