Overview
What Droplr - Shorten URL does
Shortens up to 20 distinct HTTP(S) URLs, keeping surrounding text, punctuation, and line breaks. Duplicate URLs are submitted once per run. Review the result, copy it, or replace the selection. You can choose Replace selected text in the action's result settings. If any URL fails, no partial text result is applied; links already created at the provider may still exist. No automatic retries or fallback to another provider.

Use Droplr - Shorten URL
Follow these steps to shorten web links in selected text with Droplr with ActionClip.
- Select the text you want to use.
- Choose Droplr - Shorten URL from ActionClip.
- Review the result, then replace the selection or copy the new text.
Before you add it
Requirements and privacy
- Before you start: Enable Online Actions. Link shortening requires a grandfathered or Enterprise Droplr account, plus your own approved Droplr application public/private API keys, account email, and password. ActionClip does not provide application keys.
- Your selected text: Sends only the selected web URLs directly to Droplr over HTTPS, not the surrounding prose. The service stores link destinations and may collect visit statistics. Do not shorten confidential or signed URLs. Credentials stay in this Mac's Keychain and are not exported or synced.
