Your ActionClip gift includes a lifetime license code. Follow these steps once on each Mac you want to activate, up to the limit of the gifted plan.
Before you start
- A Mac running macOS 15 or later
- The ActionClip gift email and its license code
- An internet connection for the download and license activation
Keep the license code private. Treat it like a password. ActionClip support will never ask you to post it publicly.
1. Download ActionClip
- Use the official ActionClip download.
- Wait for the ActionClip disk image to finish downloading.
2. Install and open ActionClip
- Open the downloaded disk image.
- Drag ActionClip into the Applications folder.
- Open ActionClip from Applications. If macOS asks for confirmation, choose Open.
- Complete the short setup and grant Accessibility permission when prompted. ActionClip needs it to detect selected text and show the widget nearby.
You do not need to create an ActionClip account.
3. Redeem your license code
- Copy the complete license code from your gift email.
- Open ActionClip and choose Upgrade in the sidebar.
- Find the Redeem Code card.
- Paste the code into the License code field.
- Select Redeem and wait for activation to finish.
4. Confirm activation
The Upgrade page will show the active lifetime plan, such as 1 Mac, 2 Macs, or 5 Macs. You can now use the paid ActionClip features on this Mac.
Use the gift on another Mac
Repeat the download and redemption steps on each Mac, up to the activation limit shown for the gifted plan. Grandfathered Individual and Team gifts keep the activation allowance they were sold with.
If every activation is already in use, open ActionClip on a Mac you no longer want to use, go to Upgrade, open the three-dot menu on the active-license card, and choose Remove License. Then redeem the code on the new Mac.
Troubleshooting
- The code is rejected: copy the complete code again from the gift email and make sure no characters are missing.
- Activation cannot connect: check your internet connection and try Redeem again.
- The activation limit is reached: remove the license from a Mac you no longer use, then retry.
- The app will not open: confirm you moved ActionClip into Applications and that the Mac is running macOS 15 or later.
If you still need help, contact ActionClip support. Include the purchaser's email or order details, but do not send the license code unless support specifically requests it in a private reply.
