Open action search
Requires ActionClip 2.3.1 or later. Select text in the app you are using, then press Control–Option–K (⌃⌥K). ActionClip opens a larger search bar in your widget theme, with the field focused so you can start typing.
Choose an action
Type an action name to filter the dropdown. Use the arrow keys to choose a result and Return to run it, or click the action. Escape closes search. The action uses the text you selected before opening the bar.
Change the shortcut
Open ActionClip → Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts and configure Search actions shortcut. Choose a shortcut that does not conflict with another ActionClip shortcut or the source app. Show widget and individual action shortcuts have separate controls.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm ActionClip is running, Accessibility permission is granted, and the source app is not paused.
- Select some text before opening search.
- If another app captures the shortcut, change Search actions shortcut in Settings.
- ActionClip 2.3.1 improves widget and search opening in Visual Studio Code.
