1Enable the logs
- Click the ActionClip icon in the Mac menu bar.
- Choose Settings.
- Open Settings from the sidebar and scroll to Privacy.
- Under Debug Console, click Display Logs.
The Debug Console opens and starts recording automatically. Keep the window open while reproducing the issue.
2Capture the problem
- Click Clear to remove older entries and keep the report focused.
- Make sure Pause is unchecked.
- Repeat the action that caused the problem.
- Return to the Debug Console after the issue happens.
Leave Log User Text off unless chat support specifically asks you to enable it.
3Copy and share the logs
Copy the logs
- Click Copy at the bottom of the Debug Console. The button changes to Copied.
Share through Google Docs
- Create a Google Doc and paste the copied logs into it.
- Click Share. Under General access, choose Anyone with the link and keep the role set to Viewer.
- Click Copy link.
- Return to your conversation with ActionClip chat support and share the document link.
Alternatively, paste the logs into an online code-sharing service such as Codeshare, then send its share link to the support person.
Also tell support which app or website you were using, what you did, and what you expected to happen.
After sharing, you can click Clear and close the Debug Console. Closing it stops the current log capture.
4Privacy
Debug Console logs stay on your Mac until you copy and share them. By default, ActionClip redacts selected text and action input or output previews.
Log User Text may include selected text, prompts, and action input or output. Enable it only when support requests it and you are comfortable sharing that text. API keys and provider credentials are never included in the logs.
A Google Doc set to Anyone with the link can be opened by anyone who receives that link. Remove access or delete the document after support is finished.
