Share with AirDrop
- In ActionClip 2.2.1, enable the AirDrop action in Actions. Restore it from the in-app Marketplace if needed.
- Select text or a web link, then choose AirDrop in the widget.
- Choose the nearby device in the macOS AirDrop picker.
Web links, including recognized domains such as actionclip.app, share as URLs. Other text shares as a text document. The receiving device chooses which app opens it. AirDrop does not turn the text into a custom notification.
Set up Message Contact
- Open the in-app Marketplace → Messages and add Message Contact.
- Choose Set Up Recipient. Enter a name and iMessage phone number or email, or use Choose from Contacts.
- Save. The action appears as Message [Name]; use the name Me to label it Message Me.
- Select text or a link and click the action to send it immediately.
Change the recipient from the action’s gear settings or Marketplace. Saving setup sends nothing. The saved name and address stay on this Mac.
Review before sending
Use the separate Compose Message action to open a composer, choose a recipient, and press Send yourself. Message Contact sends directly to the saved recipient after setup.
Permissions and delivery
For AirDrop, keep the other device nearby and discoverable with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Message Contact uses your signed-in iMessage account and may request permission for ActionClip to control Messages.
Check Messages for delivery status. If sending reports an uncertain result, check the conversation before retrying. ActionClip does not automatically retry an uncertain send. Notifications on the receiving device follow its Messages and Focus settings.
