Choose a shortening service
ActionClip 2.3.1 adds five link shorteners: is.gd, v.gd, Bitly, Short Menu, and Droplr. Find the service in Marketplace and add it to your actions.
Configure the action
Open the installed action's settings and complete the service configuration. Bitly, Short Menu, and Droplr require service credentials or account setup. is.gd and v.gd can work without your own API key. Review the provider's requirements before use.
Shorten your links
- Select text containing the web links you want to shorten.
- Choose the installed shortening action.
- Review the result and copy or replace it using the action's configured result behavior.
Surrounding text stays in place. Only links recognized by the action are shortened. A failure does not silently replace your selection with an incomplete result.
Privacy and service limits
Shortening sends the links to the service you choose and requires internet access and Online Actions enabled. Provider credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain. The provider controls link lifetime, redirects, usage limits, and any account charges. Avoid shortening private or sensitive URLs.
