What AirDrop does

Share web links as URLs and other selected text as a text document. Choose the receiving device each time.

Set up AirDrop and Messages sharing.

How to use it

  1. Select text or a web link.
  2. Choose AirDrop in the ActionClip widget.
  3. Choose the nearby device in the AirDrop picker.

Settings

Open the action's settings from:

ActionClip → Actions → AirDrop

Availability

Enable AirDrop in Actions, or restore it from the in-app Marketplace.

  • Enable or disable

Changes are saved automatically.

You can also replace this action's icon from ActionClip → Actions. See change an action icon.

When ActionClip suggests it

Available for selected text and web links when enabled.

Enabled actions remain available in your Actions list even when Smart Suggestions do not promote them for the current selection.

Requirements and privacy

  • Requires ActionClip 2.2.1.
  • The receiving device must be nearby and discoverable.
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be enabled.
  • The receiving device chooses how to open the shared item.
Copy Copy sends the current selection to the Mac clipboard without changing the source text. Open Link Open Link detects web addresses in selected text and opens them in your browser.
