What Lowercase does

Editable text can be replaced in place, while read-only text opens as output for safe copying.

How to use it

  1. Select the text you want to use in any supported Mac app.
  2. Choose Lowercase from the ActionClip widget or its More menu.
  3. Review the result, or continue in the destination app when the action opens one.

Settings

Open the action's settings from:

ActionClip Settings → Actions → Lowercase → gear
ActionClip Result and Display settings for a text transformation action
Lowercase can replace editable text or show output, then use any widget Display style.

Result

Choose whether ActionClip changes editable selected text immediately or shows the transformed text as output.

When ActionClip suggests it

Lowercase is promoted for editable selections that are entirely uppercase, and remains available whenever enabled.

Enabled actions remain available in your Actions list even when Smart Suggestions do not promote them for the current selection.

Requirements and privacy

  • Works locally and does not require Online Actions.
  • Case conversion follows macOS text casing behavior.
  • Read-only text is never overwritten.
Uppercase Uppercase converts every supported letter in the selection to its uppercase form. Title Case Title Case capitalizes the selected text in a title-style form. Sentence case Sentence case lowercases ordinary text and capitalizes the beginning of each sentence and line.
