What Maps does
Google Maps opens in the browser. Apple Maps opens the native Maps app and falls back to Apple Maps on the web if the app URL cannot open.
How to use it
- Select a place name or address.
- Choose Maps.
- ActionClip opens the cleaned location in Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Settings
Open the action's settings from:
ActionClip Settings → Actions → Maps → gear
Map app
Choose the destination for selected places and addresses.
Display
Choose how this action appears in the floating widget. This changes only its presentation, not what it does.
Changes are saved automatically.
You can also replace this action's icon from ActionClip → Actions. See change an action icon.
When ActionClip suggests it
Maps is promoted for detected addresses and strong postal/street patterns. Plain five-digit selections are suppressed so ordinary numbers are not treated as ZIP codes.
Enabled actions remain available in your Actions list even when Smart Suggestions do not promote them for the current selection.
Requirements and privacy
- Requires Online Actions because the destination maps service is external.
- Apple Maps uses the native app when available and a web fallback otherwise.
- ActionClip may clean surrounding text to isolate the probable address.
