What Snippets does

Create and manage snippets in the dedicated Paste widget settings section. Only enabled snippets appear in the widget.

Set up the Paste widget and snippets.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings → Paste widget and enable Snippets.
  2. Use the plus button to save literal text with an optional title, or choose Add to Snippets for selected text.
  3. Open the Paste widget in an editable field, choose Snippets, and select an entry.

Settings

Open the action's settings from:

ActionClip → Settings → Paste widget

Snippets

Enable the group, create entries with the plus button, and edit, delete, or enable individual snippets.

  • Enable Snippets
  • Create snippet
  • Edit snippet
  • Delete snippet

Changes are saved automatically.

You can also replace this action's icon from ActionClip → Actions. See change an action icon.

When ActionClip suggests it

Snippets appears in the Paste widget when enabled and available for the current editable field.

Enabled actions remain available in your Actions list even when Smart Suggestions do not promote them for the current selection.

Requirements and privacy

  • Saved snippets stay on this Mac.
  • Text is inserted literally, with whitespace and line breaks preserved.
  • Paused apps, websites, and secure-field restrictions still apply.
Paste Paste inserts the current clipboard content at an editable insertion point. Paste Plain Paste Plain removes rich formatting so text can be inserted or reused without the source font, color, or styling.
